It's a Hard Knock Life


Some time during the next two weeks it is expected that HBO and NFL Films will announce this year’s team for “Hard Knocks: Training Camp.

And while it is not a foregone conclusion, or a done deal, indications are that the favorites remain the Bengals to be this year’s team, which begs the question – what would possess a team to open up its training camp for an all-access look?

It isn’t money, since the 32 teams split the money from the contract between HBO and the league. Instead, it’s a chance to either change perceptions about your team or reinforce them.

Former Ravens coach Brian Billick even sees some similarities between why Baltimore was the first team to do it in 2002 and the Bengals’ situation this year.
